Late to the party but have followed your build progress. I fabricate my own parts too. Very nice work. Something to be proud of indeed.
In a side related issue, I saw earlier that you removed the chrome tank bezel for a black one. I have been looking for a chrome one for my '97 Convertible. No luck so far. Do you still have the chromed one? Would you be willing to part with it to a new home?
Really nice fabrication work.

It is the chrome one on the bike, it has been powder coated.
IIRC you got a machine shop or at least access.. Make one of these. Steering bolt for FX forks.. Get rid of that damned cover.. Much easier to mess with steering bearing tension. Thread is a common 9/16x18..
These are made from 1 1/2 inch 416 SS bar.. 316 probably been a better choice but the 416 was layin around.

Here are a few things that I got done this past winter.
My better half had a stater fail on her bike so I decided to put a charge moniter on both of our bikes.
I put the dyna version on my bike they are small and very simple to install.
I mounted it between my gauges where it is easy to see.
I machined up an open end cap for the pipe.
Just wanted to try something different than the closed cap.
The sound at idle didn't change much but was quite a bit louder when you hit the throttle as expected.
Also noticed a little loss of low end torque
