Default whats too high mileage?might trade my vette

whats the value of a 1996 dyna glide? might trade my 79 vette for it..I value my vette at 7k.

Dyna has 81k on it...the number kind of scares me....any advice?
ath first start up it chokes a lil smoke from carb..but when it warms up it is fine.

It's gonna need a top end within 10 or 15,000 miles, even if it's been well maintained.

The bike is worth about $4,500 to $5,000 tops!

All I can say is don't trade straight up. 89k is a lot and I'd want to see some receipts of any all maintenance..

a lot of dealers take cars in on trade , a 79 corvette if it is clean
would be an easy trade for them to take in so I would shop around a little
and just see what they would give you..

you never know you may end up on a low mileage nearly new bike for a
small monthly payment

Look for a newer bike if the Vette is really worth 7k. I picked up this 2002 dyna wide glide with 16,000 miles for 6k. Had a few bugs to fix but all previous owner goofs. Engine and mechanics run like a top. Here's a lesson I learned for ya....when you pick up a older bike with a few things wrong it will 100 dollar bill you to death fixing them. Also I'd sell the Vette and collect the money before bike shopping.

Btw...a 79 vette in running order should bring more than that. I was born with Corvette stamped on my ***. My dad worked at the Corvette Assembly Plant for 42 years so corvettes have been a way of life for us. Of course I don't know condition of your car so 7k may be good for a scrap heap.

Here's my WG and Dads C5 Convertible

unfortunately the late model C3s don't bring all that much, I have seen mint condition 78s go for 10k, you have to remember the 78/79s were the biggest and heaviest and add an anemic 350ci thanks to EPA rules then couple that with nearly 54k made in 79 and you had a corvette that isn't really in demand...

I agree.

Depending on what time of day it is, my buddy has between 6 and 10 Corvettes. He also owns a Garage. So that helps with the storage and repairs.

C3 'Vettes are a dime-a-dozen. Not being a dick, just telling you like it is.

But it's also important to remember -- You don't need twenty buyers, you only need one. And when it comes to Corvettes, I'm with P.T. Barnum.

If it's in good shape and you find the right buyer.....

OTOH, that Dyna has seen its better days. God knows what's going on inside that thing

Again, not being a jerk but you ARE talking business and in business, you gotta protect yourself.

Definitely keep shopping around, I picked up my 03 super glide for just over 5k with 20k miles on it and a lot of add-ons. For 7k I think you could do a lot better.
