Default Recommend a windshield for 02 WG

Finally got piggy bank fat enough to purchase a wind shield. Wind has been beating me to death hanging onto those mini apes all spread eagle in the wind.

I like the memphis slims. Problem is I'm 6'2 and the tallest slims isn't tall enough to reach tip of nose. I think they go to 18 inches. According to my measurements I will need at least 20 inch to get to nose tip. I want to be sure to make right choice the first time as I have to order this stuff and don't wanna fool with returns.

Fats....well I can get it 21 tall but dang they are wide as hell. I wish the slim went 21 tall. I decided as of now the 21 fats will probably be best bet though unless I get a good suggestion that works. Kinda worried about how the fats will look on a otherwise naked 02 wide glide.

No helpful input guys??

Anyone used a fats on a dyna? I'm concerned it may be too much shield for the bike. I read someone that a guy running a fats on a dyna had wobble at 70mph because of large shield. I dunno what else to get because I need to 21 inch height of the fats and all the others are to short for me

Thumbs up

I tried several W/S on my WG,I found a Windscreen (14") at a swap meet for $40.So far this has been the best yet took the pressure off the chest and 90% of the bugs.I was going to get a flyscreen but this deal came up and couldn't pass up.I am 6'2" also and never take this off

I've been looking at a lot of them too for my 03 WG, there are tons of options out there, the Harley ones are actually pretty good and the price are right there with the Memphis ones, and they actually have the Quick Release that leave nothing behind. plus they should fit the WG better than the Memphis fat.

make sure you get a clear one, not a smoked one, when you get a shield that tall you need to be able to see through it, Also I recommended to get one with braces as the ones with out vibrate quite a it,

I bought a used Harley super sport for $100, they are $229 new from the dealer but I do not care for it because it has no braces and vibrates a lot, plus it's smoke which makes it harder to see though, and it isn't quite as tall enough either but I rider mostly with a full face so it doesn't bother me. I bought Harley because I already had that particular mounting kit installed. I have another used Harley on the way..

the problem I have is that my choices are limitied because I have the bar mounted tach so I need one that provides space for that and many of them do not appear to do that.

might want to consider this one, JP Cycles is giving them away right now, it is the smoke one though.

I have the Harley quick detach and works great, I can even wear my regular glasses and have no issues

If the shield is too wide then can be trimmed down rasily with a dremel type tool or get it done by a plastic reseller
