Talking Mod: New front fender
Finally I purchased a new fender Custom Chrome Tomestone 6" to replace the tiny stock front fender.

For starters it's to wide to fit and had it cut throughout the middle where it originally comes welded. Will post pictures as soon as I can.

Fender: Bought it from Phat Performance Parts, good price, tightly packed, and fast shipping. 👍

Paint: Bought it from ColorRite online and they did carry my bikes original color; Chrome Yellow Pearl. Hope it's identical.

How much did you end up taking out of the fenders width? To avoid the possibility of the weld having strength issues down the road, maybe it would be a good idea to take a 1"x1/8" or 1"x1/16" strip of metal and add it into the weld process, maybe the piece you cut out would work. The the center weld will contact both sides of the fender and the strip on the inside of the fender, then go on the inside and add a tack every 1" or 1.5" along both side of the strip. This fender should be good looking when you finish it all up.

I honestly have no clue about welding,but the fender looks just like it came shipped. It was welded through the middle and after they cut it, they welded it back the same way. I told the guy to apply a lot of rust protection paint.

Just picked up the bike today after leaving it at the shop for 3 days. Will go back Monday or Tuesday to have them put the new fender on. They will start prepping it today and hopefully Monday they will be painting it.

If the welder is worth his salt, you won't need to add any gusseting..

The jobs seems to advance very good. Now it's time for the painter to detail everything. I asked them to even put a clear coat underneath to make it easier to clean

Russ Wernimont makes a wrap around fender that is a direct bolt on for the 19" wheel. I had one until I decided to go to the heritage style.

New fender ended up looking good.

Not a perfect paint job though. The painter didn't spray enough chrome pearl. Will have to repaint it.

That looks good. Balances out nice with the bigger headlight and engine guard.
