Thanks for the replies.
I have checked the Vance & Hines site and would go with the FP3 but am concerned about impact on factory H-D warranty in the unlikely event I ever need it. Also since I just replaced with slip-ons the catalytic converter remains in the head pipe and could be damaged if I go too rich with the fuel. I have heard H-D looks for any reason to deny warranty claims and don't want to hear any excuses from them.
This is true,, But I hate to say it like this... but they will look for any reason to void the warranty. If you give them one!!! And as my friend who is an hd tech said as long as the mod you did didn't cause the problem I would not worry about it!!! So let say you flash the ECM with any tuner and you always rev the **** out of you bike and the rev limit is the only thing that always saves you ,,, Then I hate to say it;;;;; but you got it coming to you!!!!
IF You change your air intake to use the fp3 or any other tuner . This means HD could still give you a problem on the warranty . The only way to not put your warranty in jeopardy is to leave your bike stock!!!!! And I will bet dollars to doughnuts that even if your bike is stock the stealer ship will try some **** to make you pay something!!!!
As for the cats In the pipe.... when V&H made the map for a dyna with V&H slip ons... They too were made with the cats in the pipe... That's the whole idea, you pick your bike with the V&H pipes you have and the map is a perfect match!!!!!
Had a long talk with the Service Manager at my dealership. Great, great bunch of guys.
He was very clear on the two key aspects regarding potential warranty problems:
1. Simply using a tuner will not void your warranty.
2. However, for example, if you, by mistake, lean out the AFR too far and melt a piston in your brand new bike, it's on you.
So, the risk is that if something goes wrong, somebody's going to have to figure out what it was, and that isn't going to be you. So, be careful, and everything should be fine.

My dealer has been very good as well, after all when I asked if I needed at least the stage-1 tune after I installed the V&H they said "no it'll be fine unless you replace the intake." They could have gone for the money and told me I needed it. This Harley runs great but my old Triumph ran like crap after just replacing the slip-ons I rode it straight from my house to the dealer for their tune and it made a huge difference. That experience, the decel popping and the note from V&H stating that the tuner was needed is what caused me to ask y'all for opinions.
