I guess I'll figure out what a fuel injector looks like now and try this step: 2. If the flow chart indicates that the fuel injectors are thesource of the problem, check the part numbers stampedon the fuel injectors. While standing on the left side ofthe motorcycle, the part number on the rear fuel injectorcan be easily read with the aid of a flashlight.
Does this mean they will not remap my power commander if my bike needs new injectors? I picked up my 06 FXDL when they first hit the showrooms in July 05 so I'm sure I fall in this category. Damn, I just got my bike out of an indy shop.
Update the ECM calibration. For those motorcycles
equipped with P&A Screaminâ Eagle 1450cc or 1550ccPerformance Kits, refer to h-dnet.com for the correct calibrationP/N.It sounds like the instructions tell the dealer to go to d-dnet.com if the SE kits are installed. After having my injectors replaced by the delaer who did not re-map I contacted the other local dealership who informed me that they absolutly should have updated the ECM calibration. I explained that I wasn't getting very good service (or reliable information) at the dealer where I purchased the bike and they offered to update the ECM for me. It did make a difference; the low speed surging I was having is almost completely gone so I'd recommend ensuring the dealer updates the ECM evein if you're running stock pipes and air cleaner. I think the service manager at the first dealership just didn't want to be bothered ... that seems to be his attitude about any customer interaction ... I'll refrain from mentioning the dealer since they have some other great employees. I'll just vote with my feet and go to the other local dealer.
They deffinately need to do a remap for the different injectors.
All this said though I still have the 8's in my 06. I have installed a DTT TCFI 2 and I can read my AFR's throughout and I have it tuned in. I am finding no problems with my 8's. I have even done full throttle runs to little over 100 mph and my AFR ratio's are met. Maybe I got lucky with my 8's though. I can say with good certainty that the stock 8's will not be up for bigger changes in fuel demands with a bigger build. I am basicly stage 1. Have SEII + slip ons and a Kuryakyn Hypercharger air cleaner assembly.
Got my bike back from the dealer after having the recalls and having the 8* injectors upgraded to the 25* and new download, took it for a quick ride (still pretty cold in Maine and probably getting more snow tonight). Definately runs better at slow steady speeds.
Obviously I spend far too much time on line and messing with a computer. I noticed in this thread that everyone is trying to express degrees and are not able to find any kind of symbol that really shows degrees. Well, folks where there's a will there's a way.
Here's a hot key lesson for everyone who wants to type something like "eight degrees". Type an 8, then hold down the "Alt" key and hit the "2", then "4", then "8", then let go of the "Alt" key and bang! YOU HAVE--- °, or 8°. Ain't life interesting? Jesus, I need to get out more.

I mentioned this over a year ago in the touring modelforum but I guess nobody ever saw that post. It's amazing how many different symbols are in the Extended ASCII chart, like degree ° which like you stated is Alt and 248, and many others. Just type the words (Extended ASCII) into Google and you can look at the charts and see all the different symbols you can display and print..
I'll have to check out those Google ASCII charts. A buddy of mine told me about that degrees trick around a year ago. I ended up fishing around and looking into all the weird symbols that are hiding in there.
