FYI - Took my 06' FXDWGI to the dealership yesterday (had to trailer it since we got a foot of snow in Maine this past Wed/Thur) for an oil change and to get the recalls taken care of. While at the service desk, I asked the service mgr. what the deal was with the 8* injectors. I have not had a problem with them yet, but I know a lot of you have. Without me even asking, they said they would upgade them to the 25* injectors, when I asked him about cost, he said the manf. would take care of it. When I asked him about a remap since I have a Stage I kit with the 8* race download, he said they would remap and that the manf. would take care of the cost.
So, for all of you how are getting a hard time from your dealer about this, its crap, it won't cost them a dime to give you what I understand in a much better running system.
My dealer treated me the same way yours did......told me why make 2 trips? We will just include the injector change at the free 1,000 visit because HD is paying the tab. No problemo.
Afraid to ask.......... but will.
Still waiting for my nuetral switch SAFETY recall kit since last September.
When it comes in they are replacing the primary bearing, and bad 02 sensors....... still riding.
Seems like a long time for the tranny recall kit, I asked my dealer if they had all the parts they neededfor the trannyand the battery box recall before I dropped my bike offthis weekend and the said it wasnot a problem.
Why are they replacing the primary bearing? I thought the deal with primary wasthat itneeded to be checked every 15K and the HD would replace it at their cost if it was showing signs of wear.
Had the 25 degree injectors installed on my 06 today and while there may be a slight improvement in throttle response it's not night & day. Additionally, I'm still getting some "surging" at ~25 MPH & below. The dealer didn't remap after installing the new injectors -- said it wasn't needed since I'm running a stock bike. Not sure if that's true or they just didn't want to be bothered. Overall I have to say it's a shame The Motor Company seems content to sell bikes that don't run well off the showroom floor. For the money the damn things ought to be near flawless. I've followed all the gripes about the EPA but that doesn't excuse selling product that won't perform without $2,000 worth of modification. My last HD (1998) was flawless ... never had a single problem. If my '06 is any indication so far (bent headlight mount off the floor, blown fifth main drive bearing at 1,000 miles, and the on-going crappy low-speed throttle response) I might have been better off with another make (gasp). I do like my Dyna; it's a nice ride and I love the looks ... I'm just spending too damn much time dealing with service folks who act like they're doing me a favor to get a brand new bike road-worthy. Guess my nest dime will be for a Power Commander, high-flow air cleaner, & pipes to try to get her to run like she's supposed to!

That is a 2 week wait tops for the neutral switch. You should check your injectors because you probably have the 8 degree ones.

FUEL INJECTOR/CALIBRATION CHANGES FOR 2006 1450cc
BIG TWINS
ÂŽ
Purpose
It has recently been determined that the 8
°
angle cone spray
fuel injectors used on 2006 1450cc Big Twins may cause cold
start and/or driveability problems on some motorcycles.
In the interest of promoting customer satisfaction, the 25
°
angle cone spray fuel injectors used on CVO 103 cu. in.
(1690cc) motors will be installed on all production Big Twins
beginning on or around February 13, 2006.
Additionally, Harley-Davidson will provide for the installation
of 25
°
angle cone spray fuel injectors on those motorcycles
where use of the 8
°
fuel injectors (part number 27625-06) is
determined to be directly responsible for cold start and/or
driveability problems. See REQUIRED DEALER ACTION.
NOTE
Due to changes in the manufacturing process, the part number
of the 25
°
angle cone spray fuel injector is changing from
27709-06 to 27709-06A. This fuel injector also will be
stamped with the words â25 DEGâ for easy identification. See
Figure 1.
Motorcycles Affected
Only 2006 1450cc Big Twin model motorcycles that exhibit
cold start and/or driveability problems directly related to use
