Superglide Tank
NEW ADDITIONAL INFO: A FEW PEOPLE ON THE DYNA BOARD SAID THAT THERE ARE SOME ADDITIONAL MODELS THIS TANK WILL FIT: 04+ Superglide, 04+ FXDX, 04-06 superglide custom (FXDC), 07 FXDSE
Long story...so here's the short version.
Last September I went down on my 06 Street Bob. I'm fine and the bike made it out in very good shape. However, I dented the tank a little bit and was looking for a cheap way out.
So I went to a swap meet in Charlotte NC and found what I thought was an exact replacement of my tank brand new and bought it.
The next day when I got it home I got to looking on it and it was date stamped in 06/2008 on the bottom. My first thought was...I sure as heck doubt that they were making tanks for an 06 model in 2008, but if the tanks hadn't changed it shouldn't matter.
Also I guess it was the excitement in the air, or a few beers in me or something else, but when I got home I noticed the tank had a slight dent in it. I thought I purchased a brand new tank out of the crate, but it appears it was dented in shipping. Please spare me the smart remarks about how I should have been more careful. It was my first swap meet and parts were flying all over the place. I was excited.
Summary: 06-08 Superglide tank purchased at a swap meet, vivid black, never been on a bike, slight dent on front, $150 and I'll ship it to your door.

I have absolutely no idea. I will post the question over on the Dyna board and someone will know for sure. There are some people over there that know every part for every bike. I'll let you know.

Here is the response
The tanks are different but they will mount on either bike.
The 08 custom has the speedo in the tank so if he went with your SG tank he would have to move it to the bars or somewhere else.
