Bike - 2018 883N
Swapped out my OEM headlight for a Eagle Lights Gen III headlight, now the red security (trouble code) light stays on. Bike does not have security system or key fob. Cranks and runs fine, just the red light on all the time. Eagle says plug and play, just put in and ride. Thought I would ask here for real world advice. Anyone else having this issue?

Red light indicates trouble code stored due to CANBUS system, you need to get the CANBUS module.

 

Ok, Eagle just said plug and play so I didn't look any further. Will look into the CANBUS issue....thanks for advice.

 

yep mr. zan is right!
some can systems look at light load to determine if they are working or burned out. for that reason, they make can compliant replacement bulbs, you might have to mod the wiring to trick it.

 

I will follow up with the resolution.
