Hello i have a 2010 Sportster 48 and i recently just bought it used, the accessory fuse keeps blowing I've installed new bars and re located the speedo back to the stock position since i have got it. Ive checked all my wiring multiple times and nothing seems to be wrong, i even replaced the TCM and it is still blowing the accessory fuse. Also every time i blow the fuse its only while riding and when i blow the fuse while riding i notice when i press the left turn signal my low fuel light turns on but only right after i blow the fuse and only while riding. Has anyone else had this issue? If so please lmk how to fix it im dying to figure it out!! Thanks
Did you have this issue before you changed the handlebars and speedo ? Here's what I think , you have an bare/open wire shorting out , when you ride , it vibrates and shorts out , causing the blown fuse , time to start tracing your wires back from the fuse box . Have you looked at all your connectors as well , inspect the pins closely and be sure they're not damaged , also inspect the connector housing as well .
As often happens changing bars it did not go back together right. You already know you have a short. One it seems is not shorting all the time but movement /vibration cause the short. Keep looking
As said , go back and retrace your wiring , could be a bare / exposed wire inside handle bar , check connections inside the headlight bucket as well . You'll know it when you see it . If the bike is starting up just fine and all switches are working as should before you take it out , then I would expect everything to be done correctly . If it only blows the fuse while your riding , there must be an exposed wire somewhere .
Before turn signal modules came out in 91, the accessory circuit actually powered the turn signals, on the OP`s bike it only provides the power to trigger the TSSM.
