No instrument lights, speedo, tach or cruise control
Hello, new to the forum. I rode in the rain yesterday and now my speedometer, tach, cruise control and gauges don't work, as well as no instrument lights. I checked the fuse panel and nothing blown. Any suggestions? 16 Road Glide CVO
I couldn't find schematics for your bike but the Battery Fuse powers the Speedometer and indicator lights on touring bikes with a fairing.
It also powers the hand controls , Volt Meter and fuel gauge so I wonder if they are working. If they are then I woulc check the connector to the IM Instrument Module. The Connector is on the far right of the schematic #39.
Vernal, thanks for the response. The battery fuse was fine but I replaced it anyway, but it didn't correct the issue. None of my gauges work, (gas, voltmeter, speedo or tach) No instrument lights so no neutral light or turn signal indicator (but turn signals function) cruise control doesn't work either. I rode in the rain several hours with no problems, parked the bike overnight and discovered the problem next morning. Is the IM connector underneath the fairing?
The pages below are from a 2015 Electrical Diagnostic Manual. Did you check for diagnostic codes? https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-29661-...es.html#pcodes then again if your Speedo isn’t working you may not be able to retrieve codes.......
There is a black connector under your seat, it sits on the left side (as you'd be sitting on bike), next to ECM on top of battery (#2 in picture). It should be hooked to a clip into the battery cover tray, unplug that, see what that looks like.
Crotonrz: I checked that connector, it was plugged in all the way, took it apart and doesn't look like any loose wires or bare spots. Put it back together and still have no instruments or lights.
I'm not sure but it appears his diagram was for a Roadking. Earlier I posted the drawing for FLH here is the one for FLT. the connector should plug in right between the Speedo and Tac. Pull the outer fairing and check the connector then let it air out for a day or two.

Siren is not a factory installed part even on the CVO models, so the OP may not have one. If there is water in the connectors some WD-40 will dry it out then use some dielectric grease before reconnecting them.
