2005 electra glide when I apply hand brake or foot brake the starter cranks even while driving . Right now it won't do it but it was an hour ago . It started a few months ago . I had installed a kenwood stereo plug and play for harley I thought it was that so I replaced the stereo with aq aquatic plug and play for harley and it still does it . I have the housing opened up for the start button it looks ok and works ok . So as I say its intermittent because I can't get it to do it right now . I was out 2 days ago and it was ok for an hour then stopped for a stop sign and the starter was cranking when I apply the brake and the stereo shuts off and powers up again after you don't touch the brake. Should go for a ride with the stereo disconnected and see if it does it but its minus 3 right now .
Ok from the thread in chat ya got real problem
The 2 wires Dan mentioned are probably (no guarantee)getting together in a pinched place or melted together just enough to be intermittent.
Hang in here so someone better than me can give ya better idea.

Thanks im not a bike mechanic that's for sure. I put a rocker switch in the line to the starter so at least I can stop power from getting to the starter until I can track down the problem. Could cost many many $$$ at a shop.. thanks to all who may have a tip

The switch wiring goes into the fairing harness ( Ive got an 08 manual) so this has me wondering about the wiring for the radio even if plug and play real odd deal.
I'm betting wires are pinched or rubbed some where in these circuits.
