Default Battery Strap

Please pardon my ignorance on this one: is the rubber battery strap a must have when replacing the battery.

My concern would be the unit juggling around with all the vibration from the bike which can't be all that good for it?

Opinions?

If you leave it bouncing or sliding around, it will tug on the wires and loosen them in short order. My Softail kept loosen the positive wire.

The original seat had a button on it to snug battery. Took me a while to figured it out since there is no strap attachment places.

I finally took some 1/4 thick rubber mat material and used as a wedge.

You can fabricate a strap from a heavy black rubber bungee cord.
