Ok, so TSSM, starts and stalls after 5 seconds, correct? Security light comes on and stays on correct? If this is the case run the TSSM password learn procedure first. Ensure that the battery is at full charge first and that a tender is on it as this is a 1/2 hour procedure that needs to keep power on. There is a sticky with the instructions there are also instructions in the FSM under the TSSM section. Without the password learned the TSSM will not operate as advertised and the bike will not run. The shutdown is coming from the ECM and not the TSSM.

why would it unlearn my key fob and what about the turn signals

Don`t get distracted about why it would unlearn, this annoying stuff happens all the time, follow Zan`s advice, maybe you can get the TSSM to behave properly.

The password learn is between the ECM and the TSSM, occasionally the ECM may forget the password from the TSSM and need a reminder. Kinda like a wife's birthday. This usually happens when batteries run flat or any other voltage irregularities happen to the bike. In essence the ECM has a little bit of Alzheimer's and forgets who the TSSM is. If the bike starts and stalls but the security light is not on constantly then you have a different issue altogether. That is why I asked about the security light.
On the older TSSM systems it's a matter of turning off the ignition switch right after the light turns off then turning it on 2 seconds later, 2 to 3 times. It takes about 10 minutes for the light to go out. On newer ones I would have to consult the FSM as I cannot remember the process.
