Note that he said won't crank. Battery stuff mentioned in post three is where one starts to eliminate the basics.
If that was good, if I heard a relay click, I would check starter solenoid .
However, we don't even know if we are dealing with a Moped or a Harley with a BCM.

I agree check the basics. But I just find it interesting that it would crank when cold, but not hot, on a stock motor. Which we don't know. Maybe some big high compression motor, which I have no expereince with and he is not using the compression release, because he just bought it and doesn't know they are there? Even bad electric compression release on a stock motor, should allow it atleast do something.
Maybe first thing I would do, after tighening cables, is put a jump pack on it and see if does more. or charger on high just fort few minutes. 6-10 amps high, not some monster.
