What I need is some information about pistons. My friend has an 06 Dyna super glide custom with an 88 ci and I am trying to talk him into a 98 inch build. Now he cant afford a kit as a whole he is going to need Pistons that will work with stock heads that will give him 10.5:1 or there about. Now with that said, where should I get the forged pistons from and if anyone has part numbers that would really help. We will get his jugs board to match the pistons.

Just a bit of advice from a shade tree DIY hack. Pick a cam first and run the calcs to determine corrected compression and CCP; others may have a different view but targeting 9.3 corrected and/or 185-190psi CCP is a reasonable target. You will find some proven cams that will work with flat top pistons and all that is needed is to deck the heads .030"-.040"; round numbers but you get the idea. Increasing the bore to 95"/98", without any other changes, increased compression and a set of H-D cast flat top pistons (95")may be all you need and 100TQ/100HP is within easy reach. If you work from static of 10.5:1, you are limiting cam choices.
Additionally, once you start looking at aftermarket pistons, you must consider the weight of the piston/pin/ring pack and retainers. If the weight of the replacement piston assembly varies 10% or more from the OEM set, you could introduce some crank balance/harmonic vibration into the build. Hillside does have Wiseco pistons for his 98" builds but the piston is proprietary. Send them your cylinders for boring to fit their pistons and sent the heads along as well for cleanup, guide seals and whatever decking is required for the compression.
At least call Hillside or VTwin Performance, forum sponsors, and develop a build plan before you do anything else; they will be able to help with cam choices as well.
I'm sure Scott from Hillside will chime in here soon, but he has a smoking deal going on right now.......
I would love to go through Hillside but I don't figger he would sell me or my buddy a complete 98 inch kit couple of pieces at a time. I'm on the way to Hillsides page now to look at the Smoking deal right now.

Not listed........just give us a call when you can.
It is a great price.

I would really suggest saving you $$ till you can get everything at once.if the 98" kit is installed @ 10.5-1,its not going to work very well with stock cams (if it`ll even start)

Do it once - do it right! He needs a 'kit', whatever he chooses to do. If he just changes cams he will need a 'kit' including a gasket set, same if he only does bores - he will need someone competent to bore his cylinders, match them to his pistons, a set of gaskets, etc. Go to a competent shop and get everything in one go - that way they will all match in a proven package and once built your friend will be V happy!
