Have a 14 street bob with stage 1 cleaner sert and a thunderheader. Cant decide in what cam to install. The dealerships is suggesting screaming eagle 254e but a lot of people are suggestions the andrews 57h. I'm looking for a great low end torque cam, but do not want it to fall off at 4000 rpm. I would like it to pull hard from 2k-5k. Any other suggestions are appreciated
brett, looking for a bolt in cam can be confusing, although there are a handful of cams that are pretty damn good for your application. Its really up to you, but people here do have there favorites. I went with the s&s mr103, and have no complaints, but not a lot of people have used them. My sheet is up in the softail dyno section. Now the difference in my bike and yours is the counterbalanced motor and the big heavy wheel and tire. Imo same setup, same tuner same day you get better #. Youll get a dozen people saying Andrews 57, and its a GREAT 103 CAM. Theres the se 204 that works real well. the 255 that's Harleys stump puller. I enjoyed doing my research and also the forums help too but at the end of the day its our money and our decision. If there is one cam that I DO like the looks off is the Tman 555 torqster. Some pros will be along to help you soon enough.
They will, in the meantime do some searches and im sure something will stand out. That's the one you should go with. I like s & s products so I went with them for the cams, lifters and adj. pushrods. Don't overanalyze this its not as difficult as it seems , although I was feeling the same way you are now for months and months.
CAM selection can be alot of fun. In the end there is no magic cam & youll find that some are very similar accross the mfgs. Think of it as moving the sweet spot from left to right accross the rpm spectrum. CAMs are relitivly cheap so get the CAM for the build you have now. Personally I like Andrews 57, S&S 570, & SE 204. I have my own reasons & ended up on the 57.
No question; 57! Only SE cam I'd think of for your application would be 204s and I'd add high ratio rockers to them. But really ya aren't gonna get a lot more with a cam on a '14 up without headwork. And with headwork the cam choice opens up...

Do some research on the se204. I went from the 204 to the 57h and knowing what I know now I would've kept the 204's. They come in a bit earlier and pull hard. That being said, I am very satisfied with my 57's too.
