Default Help me spitball possible engine work...

I may be doing this more out of boredom than reality of doing engine work while bike is still under MoCo warrantly until June 2017.....but....let's say I do this winter I'd go two ways: Big: either a 124 built from my cases or something more economical. The reality is when I do, I'll prob go big as my 03 is a 107 all bore and while I love it, the addiction set in....

Saying I go small, I'd be looking for probably 100 HP and 110 TQ. What options and specifics do you suggest? I prefer to spin my all bore 107 and feel the desire to do the same on this, but with a little less power, maybe a cam that comes on sooner than my Andrews 67 would be in order??

Help!

A well built 107" is capable of delivering 120+TQ/115+HP. So, if you would be happy with 110TQ/100HP, all you need to do is rebuild your 107"er with the right components.

My 107 is in my 03 RK. Looking for engine work on a 15 RGS. Also, I'm looking to keep costs down and not wanting to get into 115/115 and up area as I'm more inclined to do the bottom end at those numbers, hence why I'd just go big if i started to fiddle in that area of power.....looking to do a bit of a budget build that will get me in that ball park.

Cheaper to drop in a crate 124" w/ 585 cams instead of a bunch of small upgrades over a long period of time.

Yup - when my boat comes in that is my preferred route. I also have a 107" at present, although my numbers are a little lower than yours, so a mild 124" with the same 585 cam I currently have sounds just perfect!

130/140 out of a very mildly built 124" would be the way to go

Sounds right to me! I modified a Dyna some years ago and worked out what would be required to give a loaded dresser similar performance - and around 130/130 seemed to be a suitable fix!

Yep, easy to see 130/140 from a 124".

Haha.....dammit....how did you guys go from me wanting 100 HP and 110 TQ to go get a 124"?!

Honestly, I feel like if the 107" in my RK ever goes to **** on me, I'll stuff a 124 in that but I'd like to keep the Road Glide extremely dependable and dammit, 100/110 area.

Now don't get me wrong........I WANT a 124 in that bike, but most importantly I want it do be a good runner and not married to the builder if that makes any sense as I'm no mechanic and put on 10-15,000 miles a year.

Or should I just get the 124"

We have a client in Syracuse NY, that has over 135,000 on his 124", in his "other" bike.
