I'm planning a 107 build on my 14sg this winter. I will probably have my local guy bore it and do a mild port on heads (stock valve size) and smooth throttle body. Was planning about 10.5-10.8 compression and probably woods cams.
My question is, when do you need to increase the throttle body? With this build would I see a increase with a larger tb over ported 50mm? If any change where would it be, tq or hp? High or low?
A massaged 50 mm should be fine for a 107" build. As far as the increase you're expecting, you won't see that much with a larger unit, maybe 1-2 hp and 3-4 on the overall tq. So unless you're into racing where you need to squeeze every bit out of the motor there's other places to invest the $$ into the motor such as the heads.
if your just cleaning up the heads & retaining the stock size valves, ide just run your stocker.a 107" should have at least 1.900 int valves, flowing 255 CFM @ 28" minumum
I'd think that instead of a Mild Port and stock valves and a bored TB you would be better off putting the money into a full head-port with OS intakes as Kirby suggests and then matching the ports on the TB/Intake/Heads.
