Default Cylinder choices problems?

I am buying 120 cylinders and pistons the whole build is worked out but th7s? Suburban offers S.E. 120 cylinders bored .010 over to 4.070 with Mahle pistons with 6.1 cc domes for 1195 I can buy the S.E. 4.060 cyls for 450 and high comp. Pistons for under 300 quite a difference! Suburban told me they bore the cyls because someyime they are out of round so that is their way to avoid that! Well how many from the MOCO are out of round? Are there that many to justify them doing this? Please any thoyghts on this knowledge of out ogf round cyls anything will be appreciated! I am ready to buy just not sure if the extra almost 500 is worth it or what the haddle would be getting round cyls to start with would be? Thank You! In Advance!!!

My experience is limited but when I buy cylinders, from any source, I buy pistons that are .010" over and have the cylinders bored/honed to fit for precisely the reasons Suburban has given you. I would never by a set of HD cylinders and HD pistons and install them without checking piston to cylinder fitment with the cylinders torqued up in torque plates. I have no empirical data on which to base what I believe would show that 50%, or more, do not meet the specified piston to cylinder fitment. If you do buy the cylinders and pistons, buy the .010" piston and have the cylinders bored and honed to fit which will add about $150 to the $750 for the pistons and cylinders which will save you some $$ and insure that the cylinder to piston fitment is correct.

Scott and Kirby see many more of these cylinders than I, so maybe they will weigh in with their experience.

4" and 4.060" have a noteriety of needing attention.
Witnessed it here, many times.

Use for what? If you are referring to crank work, Hoban Brothers (AKA Darkhorse) or R&R Cycles. If you are referring to something else, you need to be more specific.

Darkhorse Crankworks.
Their name says EXACTLY what they do.
Good guys, that we do business with from time to time.
