'13 RGC, stock 103", Jackpot 2-1-2 headpipe, Jackpot 4" slip-ons, high flow air cleaner, PV tuner, looking to pick up some grunt for passing and accelerating when riding two up especially, but I'm 270lbs alone anyway, whats the best bang for the buck cams, if I'm not doing headwork or increasing cc size for now? (Might go 107" but wont be this year)....Leaning towards the 57H and adjustable pushrods, bike only has 6K miles on it, stock lifters ok? Thanks guys...
Tw222, andrews48, tts100 if you can get one. All these going to grunt right off the bottom. 57s hit and carry later. This is in reference to a stock 103 , bolt in cam for what it sounds like you want. Stock lifters are probably ok, but I changed mine at 13000.
It's a good idea to go ahead and change the lifters. Its cheap insurance. Better to do now than have to redo it later. Harley lifters are not known to be best in newer models. Comp cams 850-1(v-thunder) can had for about $70 shipped or S&S for just over $100. I have the vthunder in mine and all is good. I am getting ready to put a set of 48h in a 13 rgc. I picked them up barley used for $100.
I think cams that the peak #'s start sooner are better than one that come on later. This also depends on your riding style. Also having a good tune is key for any cam upgrade.
