Umhhh, technically I think we're actually agreeing on that part.

All the corporate-lawyer-mandated legal mumbo-jumbo is pretty clear: once you do something to your bike, the dealer and/or the MoCo has the right to deny a warranty claim. That doesn't necessarily mean they're going to. Honestly, I'd be very surprised that a dealer would put a 120 motor in a customer's bike, charge him the $6k++ for the motor and other parts, plus labor, plus an SEPST, tune the motor, and then deny a warranty claim because they used a SEPST to tune the motor.

Could they do that? Absolutely! Would they actually do that? Not so sure about that one in the real world.

The installing dealer may not do it, they'd be foolish if they did. The problem lies when you're 1,000 miles from home and at the mercy of a different dealer. I can almost guarantee if someone comes off the freeway to a dealer I used to do business with, the worm of a service manager will drop a dime on them if they have non warranty parts or tuner on the bike. You're safe if its something simple like a tire or a radio, but screwed if its something in the engine or they have to look at the ecm with the digital technician and find the pn of the download is from a race tuner.

Because a lot of folks want to modify without knowing the ramifications. People point them out then the folks who either have no experience with having a warranty flagged, or don't give a **** about warranty jump in.

I modified at 900 miles, and modified even more at 15,400 miles. The warranty is as good as the dealer which usually isn't so I didn't worry about it.
