I'm gathering parts for an upcoming 95" build, and am looking for a top end gasket set, preferably one with .030 Cometic head gaskets. Any complaints about James Gaskets?
James Gaskets are our 'go to' gaskets at the shop. If for whatever reason they are not in stock at the distributor, we use Cometic. Both companies make great gaskets...
CYCO, a division of US Seal, sells quality gasket sets for about half the price of a Cometic set, about $50; I have used many with good results. CYCO does not sell retail or to the general public so one must set up an account to order.
A closer look at the James Gaskets MLS head gasket says it's a .036, not the .030 I was looking for, so I ordered up a Cometic set. Thanks all for the replies.
Hi All, I am installing heads on my 2007 Dyna, have James Head Gaskets. There are no marking on the gaskets to should which way is up. Thoughts and assistance greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays
There's a front and a rear...i put raised embossed area around the alignment dowel facing up. Make sure you follow cometics torque sequence and not the factory.
SB, the gaskets I have are James, they look the same on both sides with the exception of the fire ring. It's thicker on one side. I believe the thick side should go down, looks like that on the OEM gasket I removed.
