Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
So current diagnosis from dealer and HD is oil pump fault. New parts being sent overnight to replace oil pump, cam, oil pump cover. Oil was down to 3psi at idle when warm. Checked oil and no metal in oil, filter or sump plug. This was done in front of me.
Here we go again. I swear Harley could sell 85,000 of these but if even one new owner has any issue what so ever, all the nay sayers will be complaining the new whatever is a POS. We went thru this when the Rushmore was introduced in 2014. I don't care what you buy, if it's mechanical someone could have an issue. It's being fixed for free. I have one that has been the best Harley I've ever owned so far and this one is #38. Give it time folks, everyone seems to be rocket fast on judgement.

Good question, we (Dealer and i) think that they will put them in another case and test them as a matched pair along with the cover to see if they can simulate the issue.
Parts arrived today and being fitted now, waiting for results
So bought the Triglide on Saturday. Yesterday reverse gear would not work, circuit breaker not tripped. Today after a 5 mile ride I stop at some lights and I get an Oil warning light. Rev the bike and it goes out. Checked the info screen and it says OK or check Oil not the pressure it used to on the 2016 Ultra I had before.
Spoke to Harley and they want the dealer to resolve this. It has 120 miles on the bike, shouldnInpush for a new bike or new engine?
You bought a new bike with a two year warranty did you not?
If you do not get the warm fuzzy feeling from the selling dealer find another who does.
Yes, 120 miles on the clock and there are issues, but at least there is time to resolve before condemning all of the bike.
