Default Can It Be Done

As you can see in my sig pic I have a higher than stock performance engine, but the exhaust noise is about to run me stinking crazy. Can I go back to a stock exhaust, with out ruining my engine? If so what will I need to do, put a new canned map on it, till I can get it to a dyno tuner, also can I ride it 100 miles or so to the place that put the first canned map on it with out hurting my engine, or will I need a trailer?

I wouldn't do it.. The 07 FKC has a crappy exhaust system with the left pipe teeing off the rear headpipe.. I'd use a Kromeworks or SnS 2-1-2 and a set of quiet aftermarket mufflers like supertraps, SnS or big lewy's with 2 inch baffles. A 2-1-2 shares muffler volume so the end results is quieter than true duals.

If it's volume that's bothering you I would look at 1: ear plugs or 2: super trap supermeg exhaust (or perhaps fuel Moto equivalent if they offer it).

I love my supertrapp, it's tuneable and very very reasonable in volume. I purchased it for exactly that reason since my last one was driving me bonkers.

No maps please; you may not even notice if the tune is affected but get it on a dyno after the exhaust change to optimize as it will need a tweak. Some configuration are exhaust sensitive; not sure if yours is though. No need to trailer the bike to the dyno.

If your bike has O2 sensor, your ECM can adjust fuel +-25%, at least it is automotive ECM adjustment range. Some ECMs can do +-35%.
I am a car mechanic, I think bikes with O2 sensors don't need any dino tuning.
Scanner will show average fuel trim(fuel delivery adjustment) +10%, if you increase engine volume by 10%

I guess we're all entitled to our opinions... But that's just ignorant. The O2 sensors are narrowband and useless outside of closed loop, and questionable within closed loop with changes to the engine or exhaust.

if the pipes in the pic on your sig are the pipes your running, you can go to a quieter pipe that will do a lot better HP and especially TQ wise,go with a SUPER TRAP SUPERMEG

short answer, it won't hurt your engine, It will effect the performance but would think it going to make it run richer , so worst case is black smoke poor performance and fuel economy .

Whaaaaaaat! Just wrongheaded and to quote Matt "just ignorant"; automotive ECM information does not have much sway on a Harley forum; probably best if you stay in your lane.........
