I'm thinking about doing a different cam in mine as well. I don't think mine feels sluggish though. Just want to take it to the next level.
I traded in a chopper with a 113" S&S motor that would eat this thing alive. Its not a dog compared to my dyna, but they definitely are not getting what they should out of that 110.
I have a tts tuner and reinhart crossbacks. It will get a dyno tune in a few weeks. I am curious what the dyno results will be? I rode a couple different ones before choosing and actually felt a difference on each one. Rode a slim as well. Almost went with that, but glad I got the FB.
The last thing I would call this bike is sluggish. With just a good 2 into 1 pipe and a good tune using a Powervision, my Fatboy S is pulling 90HP and 110 ft lbs of torque. the before and after were night and day for me. Feels like a rocket and I'm not a little guy. Howard Malloy, have you changed pipes and had the bike dynoed yet? If not, just do that first. I think you will be very impressed.
The existing 255 emissions, school-bus cam, is actually hard to beat, in the lower ranges, BUT, if the heads were pulled/reworked, a throttle body that actually mates to the 1.750" port ID, and an S&S .570 cam set installed, with a decent pipe, and then tuned, not only would the torque equal the 255 in the low, but would far surpass in the middle, with a HUGE top-end hp charge.
125/125 +/-, is a very common number we see here with the above combo.

Yeah I'm not looking to go through motor. I was just curios if there was a bolt in cam better than the 255. Sounds like I just want to go with a 2 into 1 and a tune and that should satisfy my needs!
Hilllside are those guys for top performance without question! None of the changes I mentioned are throw aways besides the tune, but the tuner can be reprogrammed. Start there and then if you're still not happy, you have the perfect recipe above. Good luck!
