Default ccc question on 103

I am going with 103 barrels and stock pistons with only 4k on them. .030 head gasket and andrews 57h cam this puts me at 10.15 static 9.43 corrected ans ccc 196.6
should i stop there or add 4 degree key and end up with 10.15 static 9.57 corrected and ccc of 200.4. this has stock 96 " head and Tbody ( for now).

I'd run the 57s straight up. Compression might end up a little lower since the pistons will be down the barrel some.

edit: instead of the 10.15 you're talking about compression will be more around 10.05. Still good enough for a 57 run straight up.

Honestly, a ccp of 196 is really all you want for the street. Why make it work harder than it needs to. I don't think you will be able to feel the difference anyways..........

Compression releases might be a good idea.

I am betting that actual compression is about 10:1 considering factory tolerances and 103" pistons typically being below deck more than what was typical for the 88" motors. I would add compression releases and advance the cams 4*. Check CCP and I am betting it will be less than 200psi. I have yet to see actual compression be more than calculated, usually less has been my experience.

I would run it straight up. A 9.47 corrected compression is going to be great for a street build. 9.57 is going to be more tricky to tune and the power you might have to compromise with timing isn't really going to be an advantage. Might add more heat into the head and letting go of the exhaust earlier isn't going to help that situation.

Have see chamber to up to 89cc; not typical but it happens. If you don't know chamber volume and deck height, the calcs don't mean much.
