So here is my dilemma, I have had my 2011 103" Limited motor rebuilt from the crankshaft up and bored out to a 107. I did the removal and install of the motor and the cam chest work. I was pleased to find a Fueling cam plate and these S&S premium lifters stamped with HL2T on the side in the motor when I took it apart. Going back together I downloaded the instructions for the lifters from the S&S web site. After adjusting the rear cylinder pushrods to zero lash and then another .125 , I let them sit and after 25 minutes both intake and exhaust go back to zero lash pretty much like a standard lifter. I move to the front cylinder and repeat the process and after my 25 minute wait same results on the front cylinder. I spun the motor slowly with the back tire when I was done , didn't hear or feel anything abnormal so I continued with the assembly and eventually fired it up to an instant start up of the motor. I had a couple seconds of rattling which I figured were lifters and pushrods and rockers
filling up and everything seems normal, I have since put about 60 miles on according to break in recommendations. Is it possible that the travel limiters in the lifters were removed or did S&S make these with out the limiters?? Any one with experience with these. The motor is smooth and quiet I am just concerned about the adjustment.
I just installed a set also that were marked HL2T. They didn't have limiters in them either. I wouldn't worry about it...you don't really need them for a 107.
There's no way there are travel limiters in there if you set the preload to .0125". The limiters themselves are .100" thick and the lifters only have .200" total travel... Valve piston would have happened. You can always disassemble one to find out.... Plus you don't need them on the street.....
