Default Lifter Life Span

Whats the average lifespan of lifters? I have a friend that has developed some lifter noise in his 110 build. He has fuelling lifter with about 12k on them. Dealer recommended changing lifters every 15k on any cam with higher than stock lift. Has anyone else heard this?

Yep.. Maybe not the same interval but it really depends on the lifter used and the valve train, springs etc.

S&S Premium lifters in that super-aggressive valve spring application.
If those Comp Cams endurance-type springs are ditched, and replaced with say an AV&V beehive, the lifters woes will usually disappear.
