It's funny, I was going to make a post about vibration on my 95cu today as well. I have a 2001 SE Road Glide with 10.5:1 pistons, S&S 585 easy starts, converted to carb and adjustable ignition. My vibration causes a bad buzz in the floorboards and grips - makes it tough to ride. I was on a 4 day trip this weekend, and it got started one late night at the hotel with the throttle wide open - (as you can imagine - booze involved and not me on the bike) - but when I took off the next morning it was bad. I maybe can assume the immediate rev limiter bounce after first starting damaged the crank?
The only way you are going to damage the crank by bouncing the limiter is if the limiter is set to 8500...

lol - nope not that high! I just figured it would be quite a coincidence that it started the next morning - bike runs the same as always, sounds fine and same oil pressure - just a new vibration.

@2dusty - did you get anywhere with your vibration? I found mine last Saturday morning - I had a bolt loosen up where the exhaust bolted to the bracket on the transmission. Unreal how bad that loose bolt made the bike vibrate, but I will take a free fix anytime!
