First off, you need to get a Factory Service Manual (FSM) for your bike...

Second, Yes I understand... You need to get the cylinder you are working on up to "Top Dead Center" (TDC).. (get the bike off the ground and in 2nd gear spin the rear tire till the front piston is on TDC, clink the link below to see a pick of TDC) At that point you can remove the rocker covers and rockers and replace your lifters for the front cylinder and then reassemble according to the FSM and will have to rotate the motor again of Rear cylinder TDc and the do them....... Being 4 years old I would replace all gaskets. Good luck....

Finding the right spot (top dead center) is easy with the rear wheel off the ground. First remove the rocker covers so you can see what's going on. Put the bike in 6th (or 5th if that's your highest) gear, and slowly rotate the rear wheel until both rocker arms for one cylinder are all the way down at the same time, and you can rotate the pushrods by hand, or slide the rocker arms back & forth. Make sure the rocker arms have almost no pressure on them.

After completing your work on that cylinder, wait 30 minutes before moving to the other cylinder to allow the lifters to bleed down before moving to the next.

Take your time, simple stuff

I kike to watch the intake valve open then close, then once both push rod ends of the rockers are down, or both valve springs up, I look through the spark plug hole and bring the piston up to the top. That way I know for sure lifters are on base circle and piston is on compression stroke.
