Default Gear spacing

HI y'all i'm not sure i this is the right place to post this as i am new to the community. i have an 83 ironhead four speed that i recently finished however i had to replace a couple of gears that were worn and was wondering what the correct spacing between gears is.I am assuming that all measurements must be taken in neutral between the dogs and the face of each gear just like any standard.if anyone could shed a little light on this i would be in your debt. thanks Storm.

the spec.'s are in the fsm. hd is pretty sloppy. if you blue print the entire trans, it will shift better, my 1974ch whined and clunked, after tightening up, no clunk and sometimes you swear it did not shift when it did.
