Ok guys I've been searching for answers on power output possibilitys on a future upgrade on my bike and so far been unsuccessful. I own a 15 XL883L and even I hear a lot of chatter for it to be a chick bike at the time that's all I can afford for what I wanted to do.(not digging the iron 3.3 tank) I've done some mods on it for two up and se slip-on mufflers balcony cut and a size up on my rear tire for better clearance 15/70-17. I wanted to know I'm planning going 1200SE with power commander on the engine and wanted to know how much roundabout rear wheel power it can put down? I got answers I researched from 55 to 80 hp but not a good medium answer. I will be doing heads and jugs not just big bore and the taller tire puts me at 4000 Rpms at 75-76 mph depending on tire wear👍🏻 thanks in advance.
how much it can put down is directly relative to how much your wallet can put out,,,up the comp, up the displacement, heads and cams with proper pipe and tune you can get 90+ out of it,,,the key is buying proven products and services, comp, cams and heads break the 80's need the right pipe and tune no matter what you do,,,,i dont think the SE pipe is gonna do it for you if you want the 85+ numbers,,,,,check out Hammer Performance.

I was going for 1200 heads jugs pistons and tuner is it possible to get 70 hp 75 flbs out of rear wheel I'm more than willing to spend over 2 grand on this project. I just want an edge over the 1200c with my shorter gearing
do your self a favor (& save $$ too),don't even bother messing with the 883 heads.find some 1200 heads & have them worked.we have done a lot of 883 heads in the past (really don't even mess with them anymore, too much work to get them to work IMO),its really well worth just getting heads better suited for performance
What Scott said is true!!! I used to build his combo all the time. If you shop around and do your own labor, you can get there,,,,but having a good pipe and tune is a key. Beacause of yor fuel injection you might have to go a little higher than your budget, but will be worth every penny.

I would talk to Kirby, he suggested using worked 110 heads on my 107 build and while many told me it was a waste of money and my stock heads would work fine after a good port job, the build worked out great HP is climbing all the way to the red line at 6200. Even my dyno guy was impressed with how well they worked. There are some great head porters right here answering your questions, you would be wise to listen to them.
Follow Scott or kirbys blueprint...these guys have done all the homework to get where you want. Budget is the determining factor with any build. Get your sporty pulling 85hp and see how many guys call it a girls bike when all they see is your tail light lol...Dk customs has a video on here somewhere of his sporty pulling power wheelies. I'd love to do that to my wife's sportster but she yells me anytime I get close to it.
