thanks for the information I'll pass it on to the dealership but they may not want to hear it as far starting my bike I've never been able to start it other than in neutral since I've had it

Don't let them bullshit you, it's a very well known issue some dealers will try and sandbag you as they will change the switch and have it go out again 20 miles down the road. Many threads in the M8 section in here on this very issue.

I would think it is a definite safety hazard to be required to have bike in neutral to start it................well at least since the kick start days.

Don't stall it on any train tracks

On a serious note, having a problem that causes a stall and no immediate restart sounds pretty darn recall worthy to me.

just to put a closer on this the dealership replaced the clutch safety switch and everything seems to be working now . thanks for all the feed back . have a different problem now. see post" WOBBLY FRONT END" THANKS.
