noise on rear cylinder after 107 top end install...
Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
ok..came home and raised pushrod covers on rear cylinder and I could spin intake pushrod with my fingers but not the exhaust.
I'm going to ensure the cam is on base circle and try adjusting them again on this cylinder. not sure why the exhaust lifted didn't bleed down. shouldn't it have?
thanks

so far only 237 miles on her so still breaking her in. but man..let me tell you...twisting her from idle up to 3500 rpm is a blast. I can't wait to take her up through the rpms.
I will report back after I put 1000 miles on her but I couldn't be more pleased with your work and the outcome.
thanks again!
not to hijack but
I had a lot I mean ALOT of clatter on my 110 build today on initial start
SS Premium lifters and Screaming Eagle 24TPI pushrods
I had them set at 2.5 turns per Harley Instructions
SO I readjusted them to 3 turns -- .120
refired and 90 percent of rocker noise was gone
all over a half turn of the pushrod adjustment - its hard to believe
I still have a little tick like your video in my front but I only have 2 one minute heat cycles so far
I may add a couple flats to the front tomorrow
most of the builders in here are saying .140 your almost there .140 is 3.5 turns on those se rods. I have set mine both 3 and 3.5 think the 3,5 is a bit quieter. gets better as the oil gets closer to 200 f 170 is where it seems to start getting quiet. and watch those lock nuts on those rods. I had a cpl crack think they are some funky light grade material. I took 5/16 nut to keep weight down and drilled out to 3/8-24 thread as locker
