Default Compensator Alignment

2016 Road Glide Ultra. Stock condition. At 48,000 miles the compensator was replaced by a dealer service shop. At 58,000 miles I took it to another dealer because of excessive noise from the motor. They replaced the compensator again and said the previous dealer probably didn't align it properly. I checked my service manual on the bike and I can't find anything in there about aligning the compensator. It clearly talks about stacking the spring plates in proper order and orientation along with the torque procedure, but nothing about alignment.
I'm thinking the service guy is blowing smoke.

He is not blowing smoke, read the bold text in red at the bottom of page three. I know the year range does not include your bike, just provided for evidence of "primary chain alignment" not being made up...

Very real, the spec is .030 for alignment of the sprockets. There is also a spec on the spring washer stack height, which is separate from that. I have a length of primary chain and a locking bar so I can install the clutch basket and the compensator without the primary chain on it. This makes using a straight edge and feeler gauges easier.
