I Tried to carfax the bike I was purchasing with no success. If you find a site to check for that, its usually showing information via registering a new title mileage.
A lot of people put little credibility in Carfax, which I'll admit sometimes isn't worth the paper it's printed on because it's easy to not report accident repairs, but it is valuable for the consumer when it comes to a VIN check as opposed to not knowing at all.
I was about to buy a new car a few years ago. Great price, like 15% less than comparables, then as I was waiting for the paperwork to be drafted up I decided to do the Carfax just in case. Red flags all over the website, so I paid the $35 and found out the car had a salvage title the fvckin' scam artist dealer lied thru his teeth about when I asked if it had a clean title.
Still, there's no database support at Carfax for motorcycles that I'm aware of. I mean, after all, it's called CARfax, not MOTORCYCLEfax or BIKEfax...
