That head most likely had been drilled/tapped for external drains for large bore applications where the oil return hole is too close to the firelip, or no internal drain provisions were in the large bore cylinder.

It does make sense, i can not think of any other reason to drill a hole there.
Kind of weird to not know what has been done to the bike, it's gonna take a while before i trust her.
I'm pretty sure by now that there has been worked on it to improve performance, i probably will find out in the coming years. I do know that it has a compufire ignition, S&S oilpump and a cv carb. The cylinders have james gaskets on them, only thing i can see from the outside. My only harley experience before this one is a stock evo '96 fxdl, doesn't come close to this shovel. I did drive a 2018 road king, but thats not the same league.
