Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Im looking for a reputable engine builder in NY or surrounding area. Im located in Northern NY and Im looking for someone to a complete tear down and rebuild. I had a rebuild done buy a reputable mechanic and it blew less than 10k miles later so Im looking for a reputable engine builder to do a complete tear down and build.
And if it is EFI, we like to use the better class of tuning devices here.
Direct Link, or Dynojet products.
The others seem to have sub-standard results.

PM johnjzjz and give him the specifics of what have and want. He can't take care of you he'll have a recommendation.
Throughout the years I've heard and seen a lot and had enough as well... John is a straight up guy. Some people can't handle his honesty or knowledge but he has nothing to hide... Real good guy...
Being in northern new york myself I'll give my vote for hillside too. If I were in Florida is go see Kirby at vtwin...i like to spend my money as close to home as possible. I had heads done by hillside last winter and Scott put together a great package for me that would make the best out of what I already had. I'll be doing a big bore this winter and without question my stuff will be going back to hillside. There's a lot of good builders out there and a few great ones ...hillside is on that list of great ones. I've talked to Scott several times and if he talks to everyone for as long as he talks to me ,I have no idea how the guy gets anything done lol. That's where I think Scott's years of experience comes into play, he doesn't sell you a pre packaged " kit" but puts together a setup that fits your current mods and works within your budget. I'm not affiliated with hillside in any way other than being a happy customer.
