I'm not sure why my comment was confusing, but If I was looking for someone in NY to build me a motor, I'd use Hillside.

Thank you sir for clarifying that with me. As Tat2u pointed out, there were a couple of posts made earlier in the thread that made it somewhat confusing, I guess due to the sequence of the comments made. In reading this thread and dozens of others relating to happy customers; I’m confident to say that if I was closer to Hillside Cycles I’d be waiting on there door step....😃

I'm curious to hear who you're talking about. I've read alot of your post in the past and you seem like a knowledgeable guy...so I'd love to hear your take. I know no business has 100 percent customer satisfaction so no pressure lol.

I think he's talking about Hillside, At least that's the way I understand the way this thread is going... Everyone has their qualities and are very good at specific machining ie: setting up heads for a cam and compression.. No doubt Scott is very good in that area... However like most businesses they are dollar driven and because of that sometimes things don't go the way they're supposed to... I have had failures in the past that couldn't be explained and to me that's just not acceptable... I don't want to go that route any more so i'm choosing to keep my builds simple.. I don't need to support others in this world, especially when I'm struggling to support my own life.. It ain't getting any easier..

Similar experience here, unexplained or not confident reasons for failures or even finding evidence of outright backwards assembly leading to failures are concerning to say the least. Take away for me and advice to others since this is an open forum for the members is to vet and/or know all staff that potentially could put hands on your build. Ethical and well paid staff would be top of my search when finding a shop, there is no substitute for character. And yes some aspects like head work results have been great, I also fairly give credit when it's due. However with the kind of money and time involved with these projects, reliable and accountable workmanship is a must and cannot be compromised.
