Fuel Moto Low Compression 124 Kit M8 first impression
Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Yea the shift point feels higher with the map Fuel Moto supplied me. I mean most big bores have a higher shift point depending on the cam and map. It really goes fast from 0-30mph.
From the perspective of a potential customer, you seem like one bitter person/business. I've read a few posts over the years of you making snide comments about Fuel Moto. Instead of focusing on them, why not do something outstanding and customer focused to differentiate yourself? Funny thing about the Internet and online forums. Most people post telling stories about problems, poor customer service, over charging, poor return policy, lack of support, etc. I read very few of those issues in regards to Fuel Moto. They obviously are doing something right. I've also never read about them disparaging another company. That's professionalism in my opinion. That's why they've received my business for the few items I've purchased over the years. I do congratulate you on your recent record at Rockingham Dragway, but I'd be hard-pressed to use your services. I think I'd rather go with someone like GMS Racing.
sorry your offended, not bitter at all here & im sure as hell not "focusing" on anyone.just think its kinda funny when I see their "reviews"(they always sound like their written by the same person and actully the replies (like yours) sound like their written by the same person too,its all good.).im sure greg (GMS) will be happy to get your work,he`s very good.BTW,i`ve done many outstanding things from being the only P/F nitro Harley to run in the 6`s (fastest in the world) and our record set at the AMRA mclure nationals 2 weeks ago is our 9th national record,on both nitro & on gas.

I agree, FM supplies great kit parts. Interesting statement about the Iridium plugs. I used NGK Iridiums on my build, and I had an occasional hard start problem. Made adjustments to the tune in the cranking fuel area, and also timing; no dice. Put the factory HD plugs in it and no problems since. Weirdest thing ever.
All of the multitudes of service work, and engine builds here, receive NGK plugs.
Plain-jane NGK's, with the proper heat ranges, and gaps, for the dedicated engine configurations.

Most definitely impressive! But I mentioned outstanding and customer focused. How are any of these achievements customer focused?
This week I installed the 124 low compression kit with my Red Shift 468 cam. I had to buy larger injectors as the maps available from Jaime doesn't have stock injectors. All I can say is I'm very happy with the finish quality so far. Wiseco Pistons were easy to install as they were already gapped. Cylinders were in excellent condition and I measured deck height as .001 which is pretty damn close to zero deck. First thing I had to do was switch the spark plugs out to iridium because detonation was better. Break-in this weekend and no decel popping or leaks. I'm using the stock exhaust decatted with the S&S Grand Nationals with db reducers in. The torque is amazing on this bike now. I used to shift from 1st to 2nd going 20-25mph now it is at 30-35 mph. I added the Muller Slave Cylinder which lightened the clutch lever and I am using stock clutch springs. No slippage so far as I can tell. I will get it dyno this winter though and will put up the numbers. Also I added the A1 ventilator and the Feuling Oil Pump and Cam Plate. Bike is running very cool now. I like to thank Fuel Moto for their help especially from Travis. I wanted more power but to have the torque curve still early and guess what?? This kit is the answer and you can't beat the price and quality service.
So I just got the Stage 2 from Fuel Moto and love how cool the bike is running with their Jackpot CATless header...so just curious on your "bike is running very cool now" comment....do you have any radiant heat with the 124" ....how about in stops or standstill traffic in brutal summer conditions....
Not feeling heat during the summer. On hot days the engine temp sensor shows cylinders running probably between 280-300 degrees F according to PowerVision. Exhaust heat not much on the legs. Stock setup I would have to put my leg off to the engine guard peg because it was burning.

Same here and I have never seen power made with any plug, but I have seen power lost with some of the fancy ones. But I am not explaining how coils are the limiter. I save their plugs and give them back. Show them what they can make with the plugs I install and let them do what they want.
