I want to put a set of cams in my 2009 Heritage. There are a few different cams I was looking at, the Woods 555 or the Andrews 37H. I ride a lot on the freeway and I'd like to be able to pass at 70-80 mph without having to downshift and I do enjoy getting up into the upper RPM range at times. So I don't think I would like a cam that is purely low end torque. I'm going to do the work myself, a friend has the cam bearing tools that I can borrow so I don't have to buy those. From looking around at various sites Fuel Moto seems to have some of the best deals around with getting the cams, bearings, gaskets, pushrods, and lifters in one package. Plus having them get a tune that is right for the bike. The other thing I have to decide on is whether to go with the D&D Fatcat or the Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust.
When I got my 09 road glide I had the same thought. After talking to a few people that had already gone down that road, I decided to do a 106 kit at the same time. It took longer to save the coin but it was worth it in the end. I also factored in the cost of a professional dyne tune. I was not willing to spend all the time saving and spending the money without having the motor run the best it could.
As for those 2 pipes, I haven't owned either. My tuner recommended the Drago2 or the fat cat. I went with the Drago 2. All the top 2-1 are probably close performance wise. Difference will come down to sound that you like and fitment. D&D is known for fitting really good. Haven't heard much on the Rinehart
My original thought was to do a stage 3, but if Im going to go that far I want to do a complete stage 4 with head work and I dont have that much money to go that far. For now I just want to upgrade the cams, and sometime down the road I would like to do a complete stage 4 build, but that wont be for awhile as there are other things I want to upgrade on the bike.

Cam only upgrade? Andrews 48 would be a good pick.
I'm running the 555 in my FLHX. I went with that cam because I was planning on going with the 107 kit later on down the road. Three years later, I still haven't done it and the main reason is, I'm pretty happy with it. I never had it dyno tuned, just tuned it with a PV and that took some time to get it right. However I did enter it in a couple dyno shootouts and it put out 98HP/106TQ. Bike really likes the 2700+ RPM. I think the Andrews 48 would be a better cam for just a Stage 2 vs the 555 though for all around rideability.
I like my 555. When I broke down in Illinois, the service manager rode my bike and came back with a smile and told me my bike runs really good. He rides a lot of them and liked mine.

Why do you think the Andrews 48 would be better for all around rideability? Is there something about the 555s that isnt great for an everyday bike?

I think that because the TQ comes in a little sooner for the 48. You don't really feel the 555 until around 2800 and then it's on. Again, I'm just talking about stage 2. If you want an expert opinion, I'd call FM or Hillside. The info I have gotten from those two and my own experience is why I suggested that.

Honestly that actually sounds like exactly what I want. Fuel Moto did recommend the 555's I just wanted to see what some other opinions were and possibly hear from someone like you that has them. Thanks for the info! Originally I was thinking of doing a stage three but a coworker of mine thought I'd be happy with just doing cams, and from what you're saying I think I'll be happy with the 555's. Plus I have no issue with changing the cams out myself, doing a big bore kit I'm a little more hesitant.
