Have a leak from the seam on the lower engine cases. 2008 SG
The two allen bolts were definitely loose so I'm hoping by tightening these two bolts it will stop the leak. Anyone know the torque specs ? Couldn't find it in the manual. If not do you guys think ultra black will work along that seam ?
I def don't want to tear this engine apart.
Thanks

Based on your second picture with that lower front case bolt head and washer holding all that oil I would say that it's coming from somewhere else... Generally the bikes on the kickstand it should all float that way towards the kickstand so being on the right hand side of the bike is telling me it's probably something above that's leaking. Clean everything real good and then go from there and try to trace back where the leak is. Could be a cylinder base o-ring or It could be up around your lifter blocks.. Clean everything real good and Take a closer look..
Hey
It is on the left hand side running down right to left towards the kickstand. I cleaned everything real good and I'm 99 percent sure it's coming from that seam. I'm going to drop some dye once it stops raining this week to see if I can get a def location .
My manual has no torque specs based on bolt size and I cant find that bolt in the manual. Good try though .
Any recs on other sealers etc if it is from that seam.
Thanks again guys
40 years ago with beater cars and no money I used Seal All to repair fuel tanks and rubber case batteries
it held electrolytic acid, so its worth a try
