I'm trying to figure out the correct part number for Cometic MLS head gaskets. It's for a stock twin cam 96 cubic inch engine.
Stock HD part number is: 16775-99B.
The confusion stems from a possible misprint in a Cometic catalog. I'm seeing (2) different part numbers for the corresponding OEM # (16775-99B)
I'm seeing:
C9790 Head Gasket .030" Spring Steel All Models Std Bore 1999 -UP
C9745 Head Gasket .040" Spring Steel All Models Std Bore 1999 -UP
What is the stock head gasket thickness on a 96ci TC engine?
Look at the attached document and search on "16775-99", and you will see the two different Cometic part numbers for the reference OEM part number.
