Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Well changed exhaust an intake gaskets today with no luck.does same thing. Noticed Sounds nice an crisp an no problems till about a min of run time then when I rev it u can hear the misfire an popn out exhaust. Maybe it's leaking inside tank but I don't hear anything or see any fuel splashing. Also no engine light has came on this whole time
I never got a check engine light for my fuel leak. I also never had splashing fuel because the leak was below the 1/4 tank level. When I pulled the unit partially out and started turned the key the leak shot fuel out and made a mess. The engine ran fine for a little bit on start up until it went out of choke and would start to run crappy. I wish I still had the video of it.

Man u can hear that air. Mine don't make that noise. An mine idle fine it's jus when I take off it cuts out bad but it doesn't die. Or if it's in neutral an I rev it, it misfires . An the deceleration pop is really bad
I don't think the source of the problem is a leak in the fuel line in the tank. Throwing stuff at the wall, all of which can be checked, would be crank position sensor, MAPsensor, IAC motor assuming exhaust leak has been eliminated. ECM could also be going south. Get one of your buddies to let you borrow his ECM to eliminate that as the source. There are diagnostic checks for the others but the IAC my just need cleaning. None of these may be the source but being that the problem just started to present and the OP has not modified anything, all worth checking.

I did all of that and was about to replace the MAP sensor until a guy on here taught me about the fuel line. I do think doing all that you mentioned should be done, but odds are against it. I did replace the TPS on mine it had a tiny dead spot, but it did not resolve the issue. The video I posted was after I had cleaned the throttle body, replaced the TPS and cleaned the IAC.
I agree check all that he said as they are pretty easy and good maintenance. Except the ECM that is pretty rare, although not impossible, plus a swapped ECM requires a mating of the TSM or it will not run.

Pretty sure ECM can be swapped from what I read; others have done it successfully but it can be tricky. The trick is in the manual password learn process which should be performed any time the ECM or TSSM are replaced. Being such a tricky swap, probably not a good idea unless done by someone that has the manual password learn procedure down cold.
Since decel popping is a symptom of a lean condition, the problem could be fuel pressure related, i.e., pin holes in the fuel line or a leaking pressure regulator. The OP should do a fuel pressure check.
Well finally got a fuel pressure guage fuel pressure was.low.32psi.so went to take it apart an the bolt on top of cluster is strip, haha my luck gonna have to cut it off an get a new guage dash cluster
