I have S&S now and they only have 3000 miles on them --- I will know next week if they are the ticking noise or not ! I still believe a lifter is bad already or the pushrods need to be adjusted tighter as many have mentioned -- the lifter swap will only cost a couple hundred -- not to costly to try
Installing a new set of lifters next week - so only time will tell -- Im installing the harley stock lifters--
Not sure that was a wise choice. OEM lifters do not have a good track record. With the limited range when the noise presents and the fact that it goes away when warmed up, Max has made some good suggestions that don't cost $200 and probably offer a better result. JMHO. Let us know how the OEM lifters perform. I would not get rid of the S&S lifters just yet.
