Both require 250°C for disassembly.

Just don't use it as an assembly lube as was stated in this thread - lol

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/milwa...ease-help.html It was supposed to be a joke; however, not funny.

The concert I'd have for using LOCTITE 2701 is that it's low viscosity. I suspect that you want higher viscosity for it to stay on the threads..

I can assure you it stays on the threads. I have used it for securing the bolt on trike conversion I made. I used it after one of the swing arm bolts came loose.

Hehe, yep, that's what I read somewhere, too. This is how informative it gets when you google for it.

It is on the Loctite data sheets available for each product.

In other applications if you only go by colour then green is recognised as a bearing fit to shafts.

I would 100% not use the green and just go pickup some 262 or 263 locally if you can. Most any auto parts or hardware store should carry it.
Thinking about that.

Red is certainly not medium strength if we are playing the colours game, that would be blue.

Yeah, I should have admitted to I've not used it.. Swing arm bolts have longer thread engagement and depending on the year either 1/2-20 or 7/16-NC threads.. One thing to know is that the crank gear bolt is only 5/16-18 and the bottom of the hole leads to the cranks oil passage.
