Default 1k mile breather experiment

I have always wondered how much crankcase breather vapor and oil is going into the throttle body. I made a temporary breather experiment to test it out. After 1000 miles I’d guess about 1/3 to 1/2 a teaspoon of oil was prevented from entering the motor in the 1000 mile / 1 month time frame. I’m not sure if that amount of oil is a problem or not inside the throttle body and combustion chambers but, it longer spews oil in the air cleaner.

I’m going to keep it installed for now and find a more appropriate catch can.
Your mileage may vary.

What are you using to keep dirty air getting through the 2 breather tube cut outs in the backing plate when the air filter is installed?

Look into DK CUSTOMS. They have a set up real similar to yours. I don’t know if it will work for you, just some information for you.

tooooooo many variables affect this experiment. so there is no solid conclusion.
the BIGGEST issue with hd is lazy flow, their system sucks, look at rice, huge diff.

I'd bet that you have more than just 1/2 teaspoon going into the container. The problem is that most of the oil passes right through as mist. You need a bigger container,, Some filter material can help to catch the mist..
