@98hotrodfatboy
Wanted to resurrect this......what makes the 525 "lame."? I'm in need of an education.
I contacted Feuling and they said the 525 is a very good cam for my 95" build because of my riding style.
The 525 wakes up around 1750ish and carries out to 5500. But I never push my bike past that and I like
the way she pulls now. What other cam can give that low end and carry out that far? I'm interested
I get involved in a lot of builds and I can't just say off the top of my head but I will have to go back through yours and the reason why I said what I said and match the cam to whatever the needs are... I just don't throw information out there without doing the research. So if I said the 525 was lame it was probably because I looked at its ramps, lift
@ TDC, lobe separation angles,, everything.. I know how cams react to certain compressions.. BUT if you want me to look into yours further I will.. Everyone has their own style and their opinions based on their experiences of what they've done with builds and how to move air at what RPM etc..
What I'm getting at is the 525 would not be one of my choices but there's an *** for every seat and if it fits what you want that's great..

It will fall flat on it's face below 3500 rpm at stock compression of a 96. Wouldn't be able to pull itself down the road yet alone you. Best look.for a cam with an IVC no later than mid 30s.
I have the mentioned cams and have had for about 3 yrs. I also have darkhorse motor sprocket ciro air cleaner factory head pipes with some cheap slip ons. This thing runs. Sounds good and I haven't ran up on to many bikes that can run with it wit the same upgrades. I was amazed at the power. Your right about below 3500 but keep it above that.
