Curious on thoughts and opinions on the Feuling 543 cam chest kit in a 2009 Electra Glide 96 with Freedom exhaust true duals, air cleaner upgrade, and power vision tune on expected gains, performance, and sound at idle.
It will fall flat on it's face below 3500 rpm at stock compression of a 96. Wouldn't be able to pull itself down the road yet alone you. Best look.for a cam with an IVC no later than mid 30s.
The 43° intake valve close of the 543 isn't even close to just being a little big. It is way big. It's too big for a 103 and it has higher compression than a 96. You need a cam with an intake valve close in the mid 30s tops.
My local shop and local tuner which I trust highly recommended it. I guess well see soon.
We won't see anything. You will. I hope it comes with a money back guarantee. Or a tow truck to pull it off the line.
It will leave you a corrected compression of 8.7:1and a cranking compression of 167psi. This is assuming a fresh top end and no wear or loss of ring seal which unless it was recently rebuilt I doubt is the case.
Generally anything under 180psi cranking compression is undesirable and makes for a soft bottom end.. Personally I think anything under 190-200 does.
To put it in perspective , i run a cam with a 43° IVC in my 107 @ 10.9:1 compression.
